Mr. Sharpton, a New York-based activist and perennial candidate for various posts, said strong attention must be placed on affordable housing, access to wealth, retirement security, health care and education.Let's go through the list shall we? Affordable housing? If you can't afford the living situation you are in and can't seem to make the ends meet, I have but one thing to say...GET A BETTER JOB!!! It is not the governments responsibility to help you pay your mortgage. The same applies to access to wealth. Stop watching those late night infomercials claiming wealth, get an education, and apply yourself. If you can't access wealth in this country, then something is wrong, and it is not with this country. I am just going to stop right here and not hit the rest of the things he wants taken care of, because to me a conservative, it's your responsibility.
But wait it gets better. You see, President Bush failed to mention Katrina. Once again, Bush has shown the world he hates black people and wants to see New Orleans under the sea again. What a hate-monger.
"It was shocking, beyond shocking, that the president did not mention New Orleans or Katrina in the State of the Union address, because they are members of the Union still suffering daily with issues of poverty and despair," he said. They are suffering issues of poverty and despair because they chose to be in that situation. In this country anyone can become wealthy and educated, if they wanted to. The problem is they want to, but they want the government to do it for them, instead of doing it themselves. Where is personal responsibility on this? In a report from the hurricane it showed that 83% of the population failed to forify thier home and prepare for a hurricane. You live in the Gulf where a hurricane comes through almost once/twice a year (unless Bush's secret Global Warming program causes more in an effort to root out the black population). 68%...no survival kit. 60% no family disaster plan. How can they expect the government help when they can't help themselves. I think before the hurricane came through they showed on the weather channel, the path Katrina was going to take. Why didn't anyone leave? Why stay and then complain later. There was also calls to evacuate the area. Katrina...let's move on, America has more to worry about than your problems.
