Poor Nifong

In an interview with Good Morning America, Nifong's attorney had this to say:
"He's devastated. It's very upsetting to be attacked. … It's like he's public enemy No. 1," said David Freedman, Nifong's attorney.
Just so I am clear on this...he accused three guys from Duke of rape, with no evidence, a victim whose story changed more times than a Pelosi blink-a-thon during the State of the Union Address. Now he has the nerve to send his attorney on TV and say that it's so upsetting to be attacked and he feels like public enemy number 1. Sorry pal, no sympathy here for ya. You ran for office on this issue and now you are ashamed of it and feel so helpless, and "why is everyone picking on me" syndrome.
"It's very, very serious stuff. Mr. Nifong could lose his law license. [If that happens] he could no longer be [Durham County] district attorney," said Rufus Edmisten, a lawyer and former attorney general of North Carolina.
Wait, he could lose his license no longer be the D.A.? With any luck, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, he would be lucky to land a job cleaning the roadside with an orange vest on, being looked over by a gentleman with a shotgun and his prison pimp. But this story continues. It would seem that the evil conservatives in NC are all behind this plot to destroy a great man who just wanted a little justice to shine through at the end of the day.
"When you have a conservative organization like the North Carolina State Bar alleging that someone got up to the line and crossed over the line, it's pretty strong evidence that something occurred that should not have occurred," Edmisten said.
THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS!!! He accused three young men, destroying their lives in the process, all with the sweet sweet hopes of getting elected again. DNA was ignored and he didn't even talk to the accuser until Jan 12th. But yet back early last year, with no evidence and without speaking to the accuser himself, he lambasted these three guys. The story ends on a somber note though.
As things stand, Nifong could be defending himself in court before the indicted Duke lacrosse players do — if the sexual assault case goes to trial.
I just hope no DNA evidence is needed or even a credible story that doesn't change throughout his trial.
