Politics As Usual...Now With Soldiers Lives

Yes, I am a conservative and even a registered card carrying Republican, but let me say that this is nothing but politics at the expense of our service members in Iraq. From Politico:
Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., has scheduled a hearing next Tuesday in his Judiciary Committee subcommittee to explore whether Congress has the authority to cut off funding for the U.S. military campaign in Iraq. The move comes as Congress prepares to vote on a congressional resolution opposing President Bush's escalation of the war.
Feingold, a man who with McCain, suppressed the 1st Amendment with the McCain-Feingold Act or the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act, now seeks to cut off funding in Iraq altogether. Not cut back, not a little bit at a time...ALL AT ONCE.Democrats and RINOs seek resolutions to condemn the President, which hold no weight, but make for good tv on the Drive-By Media. He goes on to say:
"Congress holds the power of the purse and if the president continues to advance his failed Iraq policy, we have the responsibility to use that power to safely redeploy our troops from Iraq," Feingold said in a statement released by his office on Thursday. "I will soon be introducing legislation to use the power of the purse to end what is clearly one of the greatest mistakes in the history of the nation's foreign policy."
Here I thought helping France throughout the history of our country was the greatest foreign policy disaster. I hate to say it, but America may have to learn the hard way here. If we pull out and move our troops elsewhere, we will be a target everywhere we go, no matter what country. Who would be afraid to fight America? Nobody. Give them a couple of deaths, send some video to CNN and they will fold quickly. Osama bin Laden called us a paper tiger after he saw us pull out of Mogadishu, I am afraid we are more like a stuffed bear. Sure we look big and mean, but there is nothing inside driving us and giving it life, and give it a slight push and it will fall right over on it's face. Politics may stop at the waters edge, like the old saying goes, but that coast line is now Iraq and not America.
