North Korea is helping Iran to prepare an underground nuclear test similar to the one Pyongyang carried out last year.Putting aside the fact that under Clinton, N. Korea was able to not only research and develop nuclear weapon (also funded by us), but the fact that North Korea is still North Korea and not a united nation, is due mainly in part to Truman removing MacArthur from destroying the North Koreans and the the main supply coming from China. Yes, Eisenhower was in office when the stalemate occurred, not fighting the war to end it and destroying the enemy could be seen as a cause of the communism, still controlling North Korea.
Under the terms of a new understanding between the two countries, the North Koreans have agreed to share all the data and information they received from their successful test last October with Teheran's nuclear scientists.
Move ahead to Iran...
Jimmy Carter and his failed policy of not supporting the Shah of Iran, thus letting him fall from power, resulted in the embassy take over in Tehran. We have not had good relations since (except of course the selling of weapons to repel the Soviet Union). Two countries, decades later after failed policies caused them to rise to power and now call for the destruction of America.
Is it just me or is it not hard to see the reason that we have to win our wars and not let failed policy come back and bite us in the end. Look at Germany and Japan. What war has the Hessians fought recently? These guys historically love to fight. For good measure they helped the British fight us in the Revolutionary War. After being decimated following WWII, the Germans have been slow to fight much less help it's allies. Japan, remembering two weapons used by America, has been so gun shy about America and anything nuclear that they are opposed to the U.S. Navy porting a nuclear carrier in it's ports.
Had we done the same in the other instances, would we really be facing the environment we do today? Hard to say, but I doubt it.
