Dems Are Set to Show True Face

If the President does send more forces, will the Dems hold on their promise to not fund the additional surge? This standoff is going to be instrumental in shaping the face of the Democratic party. They should realize that if they do not fund the soldiers that heading over to Iraq, they will be shown as not funding the war and leaving our soldiers in harms way with no funding. The new leadership in the House would like nothing more than to just give up:
"To remind, this is the third time we are going down this path. Two times this has not worked," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., told reporters. "Why are they doing this now? That question remains."
So if things don't go right, we just turn tail and run. There you have it, lets just give up and leave. We can't pull it off folks. The soldiers we have over there are the finest in the world, but they can't beat the insurgents. I wonder if this mentality was in place during the Revolutionary War, WWI or even WWII, would the world be different? Look at Vietnam, after we pulled out, the North took over the South very brutally I might add. Kennedy, got us into that war to help out the French, and when a Republican President pulled us out without victory a terrible outcome was set to happen. Korea? MacArthur, who forced the North Koreans all the way back to the border with China, was told to stand down and was not given the support he needed to finish the job from Truman. Truman if you will remember pulled MacArthur out of Korea and prevented him from winning the war.
November - December 1950: With China committed to all-out war against the US on the Korean peninsula, MacArthur advocates for the same in return against China but is prohibited. He is outraged when military leaders in Washington restrict the war to only the Korean theater, meaning that he cannot bomb even the bridges of the Yalu river over which Chinese troops, supplies, and material are streaming across. He is further restricted from bombing their bases in Manchuria. MacArthur expressed his outrage later, saying that "The order not to bomb the Yalu bridges was the most indefensible and ill-conceived decision ever forced on a field commander in our nation's history."
As history shows, Korea is still split with the Commies living in the North and we all know how well that is working out. My point is this, we need to do whatever it takes to win this no matter the cost. I thought that we were to study history so that we do not repeat it. Someone needs to remind Queen Nancy.
